– Through opening of removed starter, unscrew 3 bolts
-arrows- for torque converter. To do this, turn the crankshaft
120° in the engine's direction of rotation.
– Tighten supports - VAS 6131/6-7- as shown on scissor-type
assembly and support gearbox stress free under sump.
Caution
Before separating engine and gearbox, use wooden wedges,
for example, to prevent engine from tipping over.
When separating the engine and gearbox, press off torque
converter from drive plate through opening of removed starter
motor.
– Unscrew and remove all engine/gearbox connecting bolts.
– Loosen clamping bolts -1- on side of scissor-type assembly
platform - VAS 6131 A- and pull rear section of platform to‐
gether with gearbox towards rear -arrow-. Then press off
torque converter from drive plate through opening of removed
starter.
– Use the support bridge - 30-211 A- to secure the torque con‐
verter in the gearbox to prevent the converter falling out.
Assembling:
