2. Install:
Wheel bearings

a. Install the new wheel bearings in the reverse
order of disassembly.
NOTICE
EC3P61021
Do not contact the wheel bearing inner race
“1” or balls “2”. Contact should be made
only with the outer race “3”.
TIP
Use a socket “4” that matches the diameter of
the wheel bearing outer race.

3. Install:
Rear wheel sensor rotor
NOTICE

Replace the wheel sensor rotor bolts with
new ones.
4. Install:
Bearing retainer
▼▼▼ ▼▼▼▼▼ ▼▼▼ ▼▼▼ ▼▼▼▼▼
a. Tighten the bearing retainer “1” with the hexa-
gon wrench (41) “2”.
NOTICE
ECA3P6D009
The bearing retainer has left-handed
threads. To tighten the retainer, turn it coun-
terclockwise.

5. Measure:
Wheel sensor rotor deflection
Out of specification Correct the wheel sen-
sor rotor deflection or replace the wheel sen-
sor rotor.
Refer to “MAINTENANCE OF THE REAR
WHEEL SENSOR AND SENSOR ROTOR”
on page 4-34.

TIP
After replacing the tire, wheel, or both, the rear
wheel static balance should be adjusted.
Adjust the rear wheel static balance with the
brake disc and rear wheel drive hub installed.
1. Adjust:
Rear wheel static balance
Refer to “ADJUSTING THE FRONT WHEEL
STATIC BALANCE” on page 4-28.
