Live Reviewing and
Collaboration
Many common workows rely on communication surrounding a com-
mon product, whether that is a product manual, a marketing document,
or a chapter in a book such as the one you are reading. One of the stron-
gest features in Acrobat—among a host of strong features—is the ability
for a group of users to collaborate and communicate, exchanging ideas
and content in a way that can be evaluated and tracked.
The collaboration and review process has developed over the last few
versions of Acrobat, from sharing comments and incorporating them into
a source document in Acrobat 5, to the revolutionary ability to enable
documents for commenting in Acrobat 7 Professional.
Well, its time for another revolution: Acrobat 9 oers a new way to
communicate and manage reviews online. Acrobat.com is a new Adobe
service that oers a superb venue for online collaboration in real time—
and it’s free.
You can work online at Acrobat.com to share a review, and then take
the review to a ConnectNow meeting room (for a limited number of
participants), or even work on a shared document in Buzzword, Adobes
online word processor. Of course, you’ll need tools to start, track, and
manage reviews, and Acrobat 9 has enhanced the processes found in
earlier versions of the program.
