Creating and
Handling Forms
Acrobat 9 (both Standard and Pro) oers a new way of working with forms.
Acrobat 8 introduced an interface for creating form elds that switched
from a design to an active view for constructing and testing a form. In
Acrobat 9, the interface is even more streamlined.
As part of a modied approach to form design, Acrobat 9 oers a Form
Edit mode that opens in a separate window where you build, preview,
and distribute Acroforms. For both Windows and Mac, you can construct
forms using the Acroforms forms tools.
You have the same exibility in designing forms in Acrobat as you do
in creating and designing PDF documents of other types. You can design
a form in a number of ways and in dierent programs. And, as with other
PDF documents, you can take advantage of both Acrobat.com for le
distribution, and PDF Portfolio for collecting form returns.
If you are working with Windows, you have access to the Adobe LiveCycle
Designer program, a separate forms design program integrated into Ac
-
robat 9 Pro.
