8.1 WORK AREA
WARNING
Do not use the machine if you are unable to summon help in the event of an
accident.
WARNING
The machine coming into contact with foreign bodies, walls, or the winding of wires,
nets in the cutting tools may result in sudden movements of the machine and
possibly its overturning causing serious damage or injury to yourself or others.
• Make sure there are no people or animals in the work area.
• Before starting the engine, make sure the cutter assembly is not in contact with any object.
• Make sure you can move and stand safely.
• Thoroughly inspect the area in which you intend to work. Check the surrounding area for
possible obstacles (roots, rocks, branches, ditches, etc.).
• Watch for pipes, metal cables, manholes, irrigation systems.
• Make sure there are no pipes and/or electrical wires in the ground.
WARNING
Contact with electrical wires or cables can cause serious injury or death due to
electrical current. This unit is not disconnected. To reduce the risk of damage to
property or injury to persons, always pay attention to buried pipes and cable runs.
8.2 QUICKFIT GREASING
To prevent accessories from seizing, grease the Quickfit daily (see chapter 13 MAINTENANCE)
8.3 CHECKING MACHINE SAFETY AND EFFICIENCY
• Check that the safety devices work as indicated (see chapter 7 SAFETY DEVICES).
• Make sure the machine's brakes are working properly.
• Make sure the handlebar is in the correct working position and is secured properly.
Improperly secured handlebars can cause loss of control of the machine.
8.3.1 Cutter bar accessory
• Check the teeth of the cutting blade.
• Check the wear of the linkage pads (see chapter 14 OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES).
• To prevent the cutter bar from seizing, grease the linkage (Fig. 59) and the center pin of the
drive (Fig. 60) before each use.
8.3.2 Rotor blade accessory
• Inspect the blades for wear and ensure they are properly tightened.
