2 SAFETY RULES
WARNING
If used properly, this machine is a fast, handy and efficient work tool. If used
incorrectly or without the necessary precautions, it can be dangerous. To ensure
your safety and comfort, always observe the safety instructions given here below
and throughout this handbook.
WARNING
The ignition system of your machine produces an electromagnetic field of very low
intensity. This field could interfere with certain pacemakers. To reduce the risk of
serious or fatal injury, persons with pacemakers should consult their doctor or the
manufacturer of the pacemaker before using this machine.
WARNING
Exposure to vibrations through prolonged use of combustion engine-driven tools
could cause blood vessel or nerve damage in the fingers, hands, and wrists of
people prone to circulation disorders or abnormal swellings. Prolonged use in cold
weather has been linked to blood vessel damage in otherwise healthy people. If
symptoms occur such as numbness, pain, loss of strength, change in skin color or
texture, or loss of feeling in the fingers, hands, or wrists, discontinue the use of this
machine and seek medical attention.
NOTE
National regulations may limit the use of the machine.
1. Read this manual carefully until you completely understand and can follow all safety rules,
precautions, and operating instructions before attempting to use the unit.
2. Always keep the manual nearby so that you can refer to it as needed. If the manual gets lost,
request a new one.
3. Restrict the use of your tiller to adult users who understand and can follow the safety rules,
precautions, and operating instructions found in this manual. Minors should never be
allowed to use a tiller.
4. Do not handle or operate the tiller when you are fatigued, ill, or upset, or if you have taken
alcohol, drugs, or medication. You must be in good physical condition and mentally alert.
Tiller work is strenuous. If you have any condition that might be aggravated by strenuous
work, check with your doctor before operating a tiller. Be more cautious before rest periods
and towards the end of your shift.
