24 TROUBLESHOOTING
WARNING
• Always stop the machine and disconnect the spark plug before performing all
the corrective tests recommended in the table below, except in cases where
machine operation is explicitly requested.
• When all possible causes have been checked and the problem is not resolved,
consult an Authorized Service Center. If a problem occurs that is not listed in this
table, consult an Authorized Service Center.
PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSES SOLUTION
The engine does not start or
turns off only a few seconds
after starting.
(Ensure the switch is in the
“ON” position).
There is no spark.
Check the spark of the spark
plug. If there is no spark, repeat
the test with a new spark plug.
Lack of fuel.
Check fuel level, clean air filter
and close fuel taps.
The engine starts, but does not
accelerate properly or does not
run properly at high speed.
The carburettor needs to be
adjusted.
Contact an Authorized Service
Center to adjust the carburettor.
The engine does not reach full
speed and/or emits excessive
smoke.
Dirty air filter.
Clean: see instructions in chapter
13 MAINTENANCE.
The carburettor needs to be
adjusted.
Contact an Authorized Service
Center to adjust the carburettor.
The engine starts, runs, and
accelerates but will not idle.
The carburettor needs to be
adjusted.
Contact an Authorized Service
Center to adjust the carburettor.
Premature breaking of tools. Rocky terrain. Preliminary inspection of soil.
Machine or gearbox noise.
Damaged, or loose tools.
Fix tools.
Loose safety guards. Tighten bolts.
Poor lubrication.
Top up oil to level.
Abnormal vibrations.
Damaged tools. Replace.
Loose elements.
Tighten.
The starter motor does not start
the engine.
Battery discharged. Charge the battery.

Manufacturer’s liability. Should the problems persist after applying the proposed
solutions, contact an Authorized Service Center.
