11 STOPPING THE MOTOR
WARNING
Before carrying out maintenance, also carefully read the engine manual.
To stop the engine:
1. Set the throttle trigger (B, Fig. 44, Fig. 45) to the idle position.
2. a. For gasoline engines, bring the switch (A, Fig. 44) to position “O”.
b. For diesel engines, bring the switch (A, Fig. 45) to position “O”.
c. For gasoline engine electric start, turn the switch (A, Fig. 44) to the “O” position and turn
the key (C, Fig. 30) to the “O” position.
d. For diesel engine electric start, turn the lever (A, Fig. 45) to the “O” position and turn the
key (C, Fig. 30) to the “O” position.
3. Once the engine is off, remove the starter key.
For points c and d: The engine only switches off by bringing the switch (A, Fig. 44, Fig. 45) to
position “O”. Remember to turn the key to the “O” position to prevent electrical leakage from
causing the battery to discharge.
WARNING
With the engine off, park the machine so that its stability is ensured, using the
parking brake (Fig. 46), engaging a gear (first gear uphill or reverse gear downhill),
and if necessary the wheel chocks.
In the event that the “O” position of the switch will not function, pull the starter lever in the
CLOSE position, to stop the engine.
Pre-Operation Checking
WARNING
The cutting attachment should never move when the power take-off is disengaged.
If the problem persists, have the machine checked by an Authorized Service Center
so that it can be properly rectified.
