13.1 CONFORMITY OF GAS EMISSIONS
This engine, including the emission control system, must be operated, used and maintained in
accordance with the instructions provided in the owner’s manual in order to maintain emissions
performance within the legal requirements applicable to non-road mobile machinery.
There must be no intentional tampering or misuse of the engine emission control system.
Incorrect operation, use or maintenance of the engine or machine could lead to possible
malfunctions of the emission control system to the extent that applicable legal requirements
are not met; if so, immediate action must be taken to correct system malfunctions and restore
applicable requirements.
Non-exhaustive examples of incorrect operation, use or maintenance include:
Forcing or breaking fuel metering devices.
Use of fuel and/or engine oil that do not meet the specifications indicated in chapter 9.1
FUEL.
Use of non-original spare parts, e.g. spark plugs, etc.
Lack of or inadequate maintenance of the exhaust system, including incorrect maintenance
frequencies for the muffler, spark plug, air filter, etc.
WARNING
Tampering with this engine renders the EU emissions certification no longer valid.

“The World of Outdoor Power Equipment”.
13.2 ADJUSTING THE CARBURETOR (GASOLINE ENGINE)
WARNING
Do not modify the carburettor. This could lead to violation of exhaust gas emission
laws.
13.3 STARTING SYSTEM
WARNING
The coil spring is under tension and could fly out causing serious injuries. Never try
to disassemble or modify it.
13.4 OIL CHANGE
NOTE
Please dispose of used motor oil in a manner that is compatible with the environment It is
mandatory to deliver used oil to an authorized service workshop in a sealed container. Do
not throw it in the trash or pour it on the ground or in a sink.
