WARNING
With oil-immersed drive, the inclination angle of the cutter bar must be set up.
3. Fit the cutter bar inclination spacer (P) between the bar and the drive (see Fig. 61). Position
the spacer as shown in Fig. 62.
Remove the cowling from the drive and then proceed as follows:
1. Make sure the pin (C) is mounted to the thread end and secured by the bolt (I, Fig. 60).
2. Lay the cutter plate on a flat and sufficiently rigid surface.
3. Place the fixing surface of the drive on the top face of the cutter plate while simultaneously
inserting the center pin (C, Fig. 60) between the two pads (F, Fig. 59) mounted on the
linkage (see Fig. 63).
4. Position the 4 threaded fixing holes on the cutter plate (see Fig. 64) to match the 4 holes on
the drive.
5. Tighten the bolts (G) supplied in the 4 fixing holes until fully tightened (see Fig. 65).
6. Complete the assembly operation by tightening the self-locking nuts (H, Fig. 65, Fig. 66),
acting as lock nuts, into the protruding parts of the bolts (G, Fig. 65).
WARNING
When mounting the self-locking nuts (H, Fig. 65, Fig. 66), block the heads of the
previously tightened bolts (G) with a socket wrench or similar, thus preventing
accidental loosening (see Fig. 66).
14.4 ADJUSTING CLEARANCE BETWEEN CENTER PIN AND PADS
For optimum operation, the clearance between center pin and pads must be between 1÷3
tenths; to obtain this clearance operate as follows:
1. Loosen the bolt (D, Fig. 67).
2. Tighten the grub (E, Fig. 67) until the pads are moderately tight against the center pin with
the Allen wrench provided.
3. From the position reached, turn the wrench in the opposite direction (undo the grub) about
1/8 turn (45°) (see Fig. 68).
4. Tighten the bolt (D, Fig. 67) to lock the grub (E).
NOTE
Repeat the operations of steps 1-2-3-4 whenever clearance is to be restored for optimum
operation. We recommend performing these operations every 20÷30 hours of operation.
WARNING
To avoid harmful stresses, never lock the center pin with the adjustment pads;
always leave a clearance of at least 0.1 mm.
