10.4.2 For models with gasoline engine
Read the engine operating and maintenance manual.
10.4.3 For all other models
Turn the key (C) to position “1”; the warning lights for the battery (D) and oil pressure (E,
optional) should switch on (Fig. 29).
NOTE
The battery warning light (D) should switch off as soon as the engine turns on, while
the oil warning light (E, optional) switches off as soon as the engine oil pressurizes
(Fig. 29).
Turn the key (C) to position “2” and release it once ignition is complete (Fig. 30).
WARNING
If the battery or oil warning lights stay on, check the battery or engine oil quantity.
WARNING
Using electric start for more than 5 seconds at a time overheats the starter motor,
which could become damaged.
WARNING
For further information on the start-up procedure, carefully read the engine
manual.
10.5 CONTROLS
10.5.1 Clutch lever and operator presence lever
To drive the machine, operate the dead man lever (A, Fig. 31), which must first be released by
pressing the safety lock (B).
Squeeze the clutch lever (C, Fig. 31) to:
Disengage the clutch so that the machine can be gradually slowed until coming to a
complete stop with clutch lever (C) fully pressed.
Start with the clutch lever fully pressed (C, Fig. 43) and release it slowly to pull away
gradually (recommended procedure with high speed gears or high engine revs).
10.5.2 Changing gear
WARNING
Operate the brake levers (A, B, Fig. 24), locking them using the appropriate stops (C,
Fig. 24) and bring the throttle trigger (E, Fig. 33) to idle before changing gears.
