10 STARTING THE ENGINE
WARNING
Never wrap the starter cord around your hand.
Do not lift the machine during starting operations.
WARNING
To start up the machine, you must stand in the shaded area:
when using front implements (Fig. 18).
when using rear implements (Fig. 19).
Move the gearshift lever (N) to the neutral position (Fig. 20).
Operate the brake levers (A, B, Fig. 24), locking them using the stops provided (C, Fig. 24).
Set the power take-off control lever (R, Fig. 21) to the disengaged position (N).
Set the switch (A, Fig. 22, Fig. 23) to the “I” position.
Set the throttle trigger (B, Fig. 22, Fig. 23) halfway.
WARNING
For further information on the start-up procedure, carefully read the engine
manual.
10.1 ELECTRIC START
Upon request, tillers can be provided with electric start.
CAUTION
Before starting the machine, activate the battery.
10.2 BATTERY
The machine is supplied without electrolytes in the battery. Before switching on the machine,
the battery must be duly filled with electrolytes and electrically charged.
10.2.1 Uninstalling the battery
Open the cowling (A, Fig. 21).
Disconnect the breather pipe (B, Fig. 22).
Slide out the battery.
