8.4 HANDLEBAR
To find the most comfortable working position for the operator, the handlebar can be adjusted
through three horizontal positions using the horizontal adjustment lever (I, Fig. 17), and 7
height positions using the vertical adjustment lever (P, Fig. 17).
8.5 CHECKING THE TIRES
• Check that tire pressure is correct (see chapter 13 MAINTENANCE)
• Check that the wheels are correctly installed: the arrow made by the tire tread pattern
should face the direction of operation. If not, reverse the wheels (see chapter 6.1 FITTING
TILLER WITH CUTTER BAR, 6.2 FITTING TILLER WITH ROTOR BLADE).
9 STARTING
9.1 FUEL
WARNING
Gasoline and diesel are extremely flammable fuels. Exercise extreme caution when
handling gasoline or diesel fuel. Do not smoke or bring any fire or flame near the
fuel or the machine. Mix fuel outdoors where there are no sparks or open flames.
WARNING
Fuel and fuel fumes can cause serious injury when inhaled or allowed to come in
contact with the skin. For this reason observe caution when handling fuel and make
sure there is adequate ventilation.
WARNING
Beware of carbon monoxide poisoning.
• Store and transport gasoline or diesel fuel only in containers approved specifically for the
purpose.
• Handle fuel outdoors where there are no sparks or flames.
• Select bare ground, stop the engine, and allow to cool before refueling.
• Loosen fuel cap slowly to release pressure and to keep fuel from escaping around the cap.
• Tighten fuel cap securely after refueling. Unit vibration can cause an improperly tightened
fuel cap to loosen or come off and spill quantities of fuel.
• Wipe spilled fuel from the unit and allow remaining fuel to evaporate. Move 3 m away from
refueling site before starting engine.
• Never attempt to burn off spilled fuel under any circumstances.
• Store fuel in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place.
• Never place the machine in an area with combustible materials such as dry leaves, straw,
paper, etc.
• Store the unit and fuel in an area where fuel vapors cannot reach sparks or open flames
from water heaters, electric motors or switches, furnaces, etc.
