18. While unfolding the ramp, ensure cables do not bind or pinch.
19. IF THE CATWALK DOES NOT HAVE A HYDRAULIC PIVOT SYSTEM INSTALLED:
a. Use the rig tugger winches and a pull-back line connected to the lifting point (Figure 4-8) to raise the
ramp. Use the pull-back line to prevent the ramp from falling onto the rig floor when it rotates over
center.

b. After the ramp has been lifted past its balance point and begins to lower to the rig floor, watch the
lower end of the ramp to ensure the carrier wheels do not interfere with the track on the ramp.
Ensure the carrier tracks (channels) do not bind with the carrier bed I beams when entering the
base skid.
NOTE
• Unwind approximately 5 – 6 ft of cable
from the drum to allow the ramp to be
raised without the carrier picking up and
binding on the end of the ramp.
• On the wireless terminal, ensure
speed is set to SLOW SPEED.
Warning!
The ramp weighs
12,000 – 18,000 lbs (5,443 – 8,165 kg).
