An air filter “1” (fig. 1506101) in bad conditions results in the
reduction of power, excessive fuel consumption and reduced
enginelife.
Thefiltercloggingisshown byanoptical indicatoronthe filter
“2”orifthecorrespondinglightontheinstrumentpanelturnson.
When the indicator remains locked in the red position, it is
necessary to perform maintenance or replacement, because
clogged.
Afterperformingthenecessaryinterventionspresstheupperside
oftheindicatortosetitbackintherestcondition.

WARNING
When the clogging is indicated, it is possible to continue working for not more than one hour.
Itisrecommendedto:
– Clean the filters only when the indicator light indicates clogging or at the frequency required.
Unnecessaryandtoofrequentcleaningexposestheelementstodamagebyhandlingthatcanallowdust
anddirttopassthroughthefilteringstageandcauseenginedamage.
– Incasethefilterelementsareincontactwithliquidsofanykindtheymustbereplaced.
– Periodicallycheckthetightnessoftheboltsandclamps.Airmustnotbeallowedtogetintotheengine
circulationwithouthavingfirstgonethroughthefilter.
Forthecompleteefficiencyofthefilteritisrecommendedtooperatewiththefiltercompletewithallitsparts
andcomponents,assembledinthecorrectway.
Eachdeterioratedpartmustbereplacedassoonaspossible.
Air filter disassembly
With the machine in the maintenance position, carry out the
followingoperations(fig.1506102):
– Unscrewtheknob“1”clockwiseandremovethecover“2”.
– Removetheknob“3”screwingitcounterclockwisetoextract
theprefilter”4”.
– Removetheprefilter“4”.
– Disassemble the filter “6”from the casing by loosening the
bolt”5”.
– Cleanorreplacethefiltersandreassembleallperformingthe
sameoperationsin reverse,takingcare tonottighten bolts
andknobswithexcessiveforce.
– Duringthecover"2"assembly,thevalve"7"mustalwaysbe
positioned in the lowest part compared to the filter.
Otherwise the expulsion functionality is compromised
reducingthefilterlife.

Thefiltercleaningiscarriedoutwithcompressedair,upto0.3MPa(43.5psi),atadistanceofnotlessthan150
mm(5.91in),takingcarenottodamagethefilteringelement.
