Alarms
Setting alarm limits
Upper alarm limit for Paw
Regardless of the set ventilation mode, the airway
pressure Paw is monitored by the ventilator and
limited to the set maximum inspiratory pressure
Pmax.
The airway pressure is limited when Pmax is
reached; inspiration will not be terminated
prematurely. For more details, refer to
"Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)"
on page 67.
Pmax appears in the pressure curve as a
dashed line. When this dashed line is reached,
Oxylog 3000 plus issues a !!! Paw high alarm.
Set the maximum airway pressure Pmax via the
Pmax control (A).
Lower alarm limit for Paw
Oxylog 3000
plus automatically generates an alarm
if the difference between the inspiratory pressure
and expiratory pressure is 5 mbar or less for more
than 20 seconds.
Alarm limits for MVe, RRspon and optionally
etCO
2
1 Press the Alarms key (B).
Display (example):
2 Select and activate the lower alarm limit or
the upper alarm limit for MVe, RRspon or
etCO2 on the display.
3 Set and confirm the value.
If the CO2 sensor cable is disconnected, the etCO2
alarm limits are not displayed.
If the CO2 sensor cable is disconnected and then
reconnected, the previously set alarm limits will still
be valid.
For the alarm limit ranges, refer to "Alarm limit
ranges" on page 142.
WARNING
Set alarm limits carefully.
Extreme limit settings may render the alarm
system useless.
