3.14 Setting the thread advancing device for the needle

Proper setting
The thread advancing device (3) pulls a certain amount of needle threads
out of the open thread tensioner. The amount of advanced needle thread
must be large enough the meet the following conditions:
• When sewing begins, the needles moving downward must not pull
the needle threads out of the needle thread clamp.
• At the same time, the stitches need to be tight, and the thread
advancing device must not come into contact with the folding sta-
tion when sewing begins.
To set the thread advancing device for the needle threads:
1. Loosen the counternut (1).
2. Adjust the stop width of the thread advancing device (3) by turning the
stop screw (2).
3. Tighten the counternut (1).
WARNING
Risk of injury from moving parts!
Crushing possible.
Only set the thread advancing device when the
sewing unit is switched off.
