12.5 Setting the guide plates at the folder

Proper setting
When the folder is lowered, the edges (1) of the guide plates (2) must proj-
ect from the needles to the rear by approx. 1 mm.
The leaf springs (3) hold the guide plates (2) down by exerting a low pressure.
The pressure must be set in such a way that the elastic guide plates (2) can
be easily lifted by the fed piping strips or by the flap.
To adjust the guide plates at the folder:
1. Lower the folder.
2. Check the position of the guide plates (2) in relation to the needles.
3. Check the spring pressure of the guide plates (2).
WARNING
Risk of injury from moving parts!
Crushing possible.
Set the guide plates only when the sewing unit is
switched off.
