3.9.2 Setting the gear clearance of the hook drive

Proper setting
The gear clearance between worm and worm wheel should be as low as
possible. Free movement must be ensured all the same.
Each adjustment of the hook drive in axial direction (change of the needle
distance) requires that the gear clearance be readjusted.
To set the gear clearance of the hook drive:
1. Slightly turn the hook while checking the gear clearance.
2. Loosen the screw (3).
3. Slightly loosen the screw (1).
4. Slightly loosen the clamping screws of the worm wheel (2).
WARNING
Risk of injury from moving parts!
Crushing possible.
Do not check and adjust the gear clearance unless
the sewing unit is switched off.
