▪ Dry pumping systems with skids are provided with four o mounng holes in the
oor mounng plates as detailed in the installaon drawings.
▪ All dry pumping systems can be secured by ng the bolts or studs (not supplied)
through the mounng holes in either the mounng plates or seismic restraints.
Use M16 (5/8 inch) bolts with shakeproof washers or other suitable anchor bolts of
the same size.
▪ Ensure that the bolt size and spacing is adequate for the loads ancipated and the
strength of the oor or frame.
▪
To locate the pump directly on the oor, use a concrete foundaon with a mass of
at least 1.5 mes the mass of the pump. Ensure that the length and width of the
foundaon extend at least 100 mm (4 inches) beyond the dimensions of the pump.
▪
If vibraon transmission is a concern, vibraon isolators (not supplied) should be
ed between the mounng plates or seismic restraints and the bolt or stud.
3.2 Lubricaon
The dry pumping systems are given a charge of oil before leaving the factory.
3.3 Connect the dry pumping system to the vacuum/exhaust system
WARNING:
Pipe the exhaust to a suitable treatment plant to prevent the discharge of dangerous
gases or vapours to the surrounding atmosphere.
WARNING:
Do not operate the dry pumping system with the exhaust pipeline blocked. If the
exhaust pipeline is blocked, the dry pumping system can generate exhaust pipeline
pressures of up to 10 bar (10 x 10
5
Pa). Note that a pressure spike up to a maximum
15 bar (15 x 10
5
Pa) can be generated in the exhaust pipeline for less than 0.5 seconds
if the inlet is instantaneously exposed to atmospheric pressure when the pump is
running and the exhaust is blocked.
WARNING:
Do not touch the pump exhaust and check-valve (if ed) while the pump is running
since the temperatures of these parts cause burns. These parts will remain hot aer
the pump has stopped.
