3.14 High ow purge and solvent ush set up
WARNING:
By default the DP clean high ow purge and solvent ush assembly draws the
atmospheric air into the dry pumping system. If air is not compable with the user's
process then nitrogen or another inert gas may be used. It is the responsibility of the
user to assess whether the DP clean purge gas is compable with the process.
WARNING:
We recommend the use of water and diluted Locte® 7840 or Locte® Natural Blue®
when performing a solvent ush procedure. It is the responsibility of the user to
assess whether the Locte® 7840/Natural Blue® is compable with the applicaon.
For more informaon refer to the Locte® MSDS and technical datasheet. The
manufacturer states that the Locte® 7840 and Locte® Natural Blue® are not
recommended for use in pure oxygen and/or oxygen rich systems and should not be
selected as a sealant for chlorine or other strong oxidizing materials.
For queries about the solvent compability, contact our applicaons specialists.
WARNING:
Hot steam and liquid will exit the pump during the solvent ush procedure. Ensure
that the exhaust is piped away safely and solvents are disposed of in accordance with
the local and naonal safety and environmental requirements.
CAUTION:
If an inert gas is used in place of atmospheric air for the DP clean purge gas, ensure it
is regulated to atmospheric pressure otherwise the DP clean process may not work
properly and may cause damage to the pump.
The high ow purge and solvent ush procedures are performed by a single assembly
which is supplied as an opon ed in the factory. The actuang valve is operated
pneumacally. Ensure that the pneumac gas supply meets the specicaon given in DP
clean high ow purge/solvent ush opon on page 27.
Use a 3/8 inch compression ng (not supplied) to connect the pneumac supply to the
dry pumping system. For the pump and booster combinaons, the pneumac inlet
connecon is on the rear pump panel (refer to Figure: The controls/connectors on the
rear of the pump (system with rear exhaust and castors/levelling feet ed) item 10). For
the pumponly systems, refer to Figure: DP clean assembly for the pump only systems,
item 4.
