In Fast shut down mode, no gas purges are introduced and the pump stops quickly. This
method of shut down is not recommended.
In Auto shut down mode, a purge gas cycle is introduced and the pump shuts down
gradually over a me period. This is the recommended shut down mode and is the
default mode on the dry pumping system.
Smart Stop is an addional sequence that allows the user to dene the me period for
the gradual shut down and to congure a setpoint temperature. If Smart Stop is
enabled, the pump will perform a Smart Stop when the user selects Auto shut down.
Refer to Table: Stop sequences for the stop sequences.

Stop with inlet purge
Inlet purge gas valve is opened (medium‑duty pumps only).
Inlet isolaon valve is closed (if ed).
Pump runs for 15 minutes before stopping.
All gas purge valves are closed before the pump stops.
Smart stop
Inlet purge gas valve opened (medium‑duty pumps only).
Inlet isolaon valve is closed (if ed).
Pump speed is ramped down over congurable shut down
me.
All purge gas valves are closed before pump stops.
Pump stops aer the congurable shut down me or aer a
congurable me period aer the pump temperature is below
a congurable setpoint.
The pump can be shut down using either the MCM MicroTIM, the PDT or the front panel
controls. Note that only the item in control can stop the pump. Refer to Priority of
control on page 11.
Note:
The EMS buon will always stop the pump. It does not maer which item has control.

If the pump is not going to be required for some me, switch o the electrical supply
and the cooling water supply. Seal the pump inlet and exhaust to prevent any moisture
in the atmosphere from corroding the pumping mechanism.
4.5.1 MicroTIM operaon
Use the control equipment to reset the pump start/stop signal to the interface
connector. The Running LEDs will then go o and the pump running status output signal
will open. An Auto shut down cycle is always performed when the pump is stopped
using the MCM MicroTIM.
4.5.2 PDT operaon
Press the stop buon on the PDT (refer to Pump display terminal on page 120 for more
informaon). Choose whether to select Auto or Fast shut down mode.
