The procedure to stop balancing TPVs is as follows:
Procedure
1 Select the TPV to be balanced and click [Start Balancing] in [Action].
A confirmation screen appears.
2 Click the [OK] button.
TPV balancing starts.
If a Thin Provisioning license is not registered, this function cannot be
used.
The TPV balancing cannot be performed in the following conditions:
- When the maximum number of volumes is already registered in the
ETERNUS DX Disk storage system
- When the maximum number of volumes is already registered in the
ETERNUS DX Disk storage system
- When the total number of RAID migrations and TPV balancing
processes that are running in the ETERNUS DX Disk storage system
is 32
- When the total capacity for the RAID migration and TPV balancing
processes that are running in the ETERNUS DX Disk storage system
is 128TB
- When the TPP capacity that can be registered in the ETERNUS DX
Disk storage system is insufficient
This function balances the physical allocating area of the TPV among
RAID groups of the TPP to which the TPV belongs. It is not able to
balance TPV by RAID migration of the TPV to other TPPs.
In order to recover normal status (the status before failure), the
configuration information of the ETERNUS DX Disk storage system may
be needed. After balancing TPV is complete, get the configuration
information. Refer to "11.2.8.3 Export Configuration" (page 574)
for
details.
TPV balancing can be performed during the work I/O.
To check the balancing progress of a TPV, refer to "5.1.7 Balancing Thin
Provisioning Volume" (page 67).
