Naming conventions for renaming iSCSI hosts
The following naming conventions apply when renaming iSCSI hosts:
When one iSCSI host has been selected, the iSCSI host name is changed to the entered
name.
When multiple iSCSI hosts have been selected, the iSCSI host names are changed in the
order of the present iSCSI host names.
When multiple iSCSI hosts have been selected, the iSCSI host names are changed to the
entered name with "_" and consecutive suffix numbers added respectively.
[Example]
When specifying "Host_ABC" (8 characters) as the iSCSI host name and specifying "10"
for "Start of Suffix"
Names such as "Host_ABC_10", "Host_ABC_11", and "Host_ABC_12" are used for
iSCSI hosts.
When a new iSCSI host name including "_" and the suffix number has more than 16
characters, the excess number of characters starting with the last character is deleted from
the entered iSCSI host name, and "~" and a suffix number are added, so that the name with
the suffix number has 16 characters.
[Example]
When specifying "Host_ABCDEFGHIJK" (16 characters) as the iSCSI host name and
specifying "10" for "Start of Suffix"
Names such as "Host_ABCDEFGH~10", "Host_ABCDEFGH~11", and
"Host_ABCDEFGH~12" are used for iSCSI hosts.
When an iSCSI host name including the suffix number already exists, the suffix number is
increased by one (+1). The suffix number is increased by one (+1) until no iSCSI host names
overlap.
C.2.3 For SAS Hosts
Naming conventions for adding SAS hosts
The following naming conventions apply when adding SAS hosts:
A name is automatically added to a host with the "SAS host group name" and a suffix number
"_x" (serial numbers starting with "0").
[Example]
When specifying "HOST_Group_001" (14 characters) as the host group name
Names such as "HOST_Group_001_0" and "HOST_Group_001_1" are used for SAS
host groups.
When the host name including the suffix number "_x" has more than 16 characters, the
excess number of characters is deleted from the "SAS host group name", starting with the last
character and a suffix number "~x" will be added. Then, the name will contain only 16
characters.
[Example]
When specifying "HOST_Group_ABCDE" (16 characters) as the host group name
Names such as "HOST_Group_ABC~0" and "HOST_Group_ABC~1" are used for SAS
host groups.
When a host name including the suffix number already exists, the suffix number is increased
by one (+1). The suffix number is increased by one (+1) until no host names overlap.
