9.2.2 Host Group Management
Host group management provides the following functions:
• Add FC Host
• Add iSCSI Host
• Add SAS Host
• Delete Host Group
• Modify Host Group
• Modify FC Host Group
• Modify iSCSI Host Group
• Modify SAS Host Group
• Delete FC Host
• Delete iSCSI Host
• Delete SAS Host
• Rename FC Host
• Rename iSCSI Host
• Rename SAS Host
9.2.2.1 Add FC Host
This function creates a new FC host group, and registers the host to be a member.
A FC host group uses FC or FCoE as the interface type, and groups the hosts (HBAs), which
access the same LUN group. This function configures Host Affinity settings for each FC host
group.
• The maximum number of host groups per device is 128, irrespective of the interface types.
• The maximum number of connectable hosts (the number of HBAs) per device is 1024,
irrespective of the interface types.
• The maximum number of connectable hosts (the number of HBAs) per CA port is 256.
• The maximum number of connectable hosts (the number of HBAs) per host group is 8.
• Registration of the host is necessary to create a host group. Create a
new host group when registering a host on GUI.
• One host cannot be a member of several host groups.
• Assign an appropriate host response to the created host group. The
host response configures the operation mode which is appropriate to
the host.
If an appropriate host response is not configured to the host group, the
path may not be switched correctly or the volume may not be
recognized correctly.
