9.2 Functions in the Action Area for Connectivity

The procedure to create a FC host group is as follows:
1 Click [Add FC Host] in [Action].
2 Enter a host group name to be created, and select a host response to be
assigned to the host group.
• FC Host Group Name
Specify the host group name.
An existing host group name cannot be specified. Refer to "Naming conventions for
adding FC hosts" (page 618) for details.
The following input conditions apply:
- 1 - 16 alphanumeric characters and symbols (except ", (comma)" and "?")
- Space
• Host Response
Select a host response to be assigned to a host group.
The host response list created in the ETERNUS DX Disk storage system is displayed.
- Windows EMPD (*1)
- Linux EMPD (*1)
- Solaris EMPD (*1)
- Solaris MPxIO
- HP-UX
- AIX EMPD (*1)
- AIX VxVM
- AIX Single Path
- VS850/SVC
- Host responses created in the ETERNUS DX Disk storage system
- Others

• To change the settings of the host groups, refer to "9.2.2.5 Modify Host
Group" (page 312).
• To add a port to an existing host group, refer to "9.2.2.5 Modify Host
Group" (page 312).
• To change the host group names, refer to "9.2.2.12 Rename FC Host"
(page 333).
• A FC host and an FCoE host can be members of the same host group.
Both "FC host" and "FCoE host" are abbreviated as "FC host" in this
guide.
