4. Connect the permanent cable from the Barcode reader to the female
receptacle on the “Y” cable for the alignment.
5. Connect the J13 connector on the “Y” cable to J13 on the Backplane.
Do not force the J13 connector, it is keyed to go in one way.
6. Turn on the iQ200 to power up the barcode scanner.
7. Connect the RS 232 cable to the communication port of the laptop.
Load the Alignment Tool
1. Load the “Barcode Reader Alignment Tool” (IRIS part# 725-3090) like
a normal rack in the iQ200 sampler.
2. Start the Service Application.
3. From the Service Application, click on STM, then Sequences.
4. Double-click on Initialize Rack M1 and then click OK.
5. Double-click on Move Next MN and then click OK until the rack is
positioned at the fifth position.
6. Leave the Alignment tool in the fifth (5
th
) position.
Perform barcode alignment
1. Start the “Barcode Utility Program” from the Laptop computer.
2. Use the COM Setup drop down menu on the main screen to select an
open COM port (probably COM1 on a laptop) in order to establish
communication between the Barcode reader and the laptop. The
main screen view should display “Online” if the connection is
successful.
