Using ILS Localizer Softkeys
To set the ILS Localizer carrier frequency
1. Press Aux Fctn > Avionics > ILS Localizer
2. Press Carrier Freq Index
(Default <value> is 1 and corresponds to 108.10 MHz.)
3. Select a <value> from 1 to 40 (108.10 to 111.95 MHz) and press Enter.
These softkeys set a carrier index between 1 and 40.
Each index corresponds to a standard defined ILS Localizer carrier channel in
the range from 108.10 - 111.95 MHz.
There are forty channels that are allocated to the ILS Localizer at 50 kHz
spacing in the range from 108.10 - 111.95 MHz; each ILS Localizer carrier has
a corresponding ILS Glide Slope carrier frequency in the range from 329.15 -
334.70 MHz.
Since VOR [VHF Omnidirectional Range] systems range from 108.00 to
118 MHz, this frequency range overlaps with the ILS Localizer carrier
frequency range from 108.10 - 111.95 MHz; to allow ILS and VOR systems to
share this frequency range, only frequencies where the first decimal is odd (like
the following examples: 108.10, 108.15, 108.30, 108.35...) are used as
ILS Localizer carriers.
The default ILS Localizer carrier frequency Index is 1 and corresponds to
108.10 MHz.
