Keysight EXG and MXG X-Series Signal Generators User’s Guide 379
Using Avionics VOR/ILS Softkeys for N5171B/72B and N5181B/82B with Option 302
Using ILS Glide Slope Softkeys
To set the ILS Glide Slope mode to produce a full or partial signal
1. Press Aux Fctn > Avionics > ILS Glide Slope
2. Press ILS GS Mode
(Default selection is OFF.)
3. Select either: OFF | NORM | Suppress Up | Suppress Down
These softkeys allow selection of a complete or partial ILS Glide Slope signal
and can set the ILS Glide Slope Mode to one of the following:
— Selecting OFF turns off all ILS Glide Slope signals. When set to OFF, all
ILS Glide Slope mode parameter settings are turned off, but the selected
ILS Glide Slope carrier is still present on the RF Output connector. To turn
off this ILS Glide Slope carrier, set RF On to off.
— Selecting NORM turns on both Up (90 Hz) and
Down (150 Hz) ILS Glide Slope signals.
(See Figure 14-23 on page 380.)
— Selecting Suppress Up turns off the Up (90 Hz) ILS Glide Slope signal.
(See Figure 14-24 on page 380.)
— Selecting Suppress Down turns off the Down (150 Hz) ILS Glide Slope
signal.
(See Figure 14-25 on page 380.)
Setting the mode back to OFF, after selecting one of the other modes
(either: NORM | Suppress Up | Suppress Down) does not turn off the
ILS Glide Slope carrier, specified by Carrier Freq Index, it is still present on the
RF Output of the signal generator.
To turn off this ILS Glide Slope carrier frequency, set RF On to off.
