Open the left cover. Do a feed test, enter Diagnostics Menu and navigate
to:
INPUT TRAY TESTS > Feed Test >Tray [x]
Observe the pick/feed motor and the transport motor.
Do the motors run?
Go to step 10. If the pick motor
doesn't run, then
replace the media
feeder. Go to
“Drawer
media feeder
removal ” on
page 405.
If the transport motor
doesn't run, then
replace the transport
motor. Go to “Drawer
transport motor
removal” on page
407.
Step 10
Re-seat all connectors on the controller PCBA.
Does the error remain?
Replace the controller
PCBA. Go to “Drawer
controller PCBA
removal” on page
402.
If the error persists,
then replace
the option
tray. Go to

Is it free of obstructions?
Go to step 2. Remove all
obstructions along the
paper path.
Step 2
Check the following:
• Push down on the lift plate and check if the spring works.
• Open and close the tray, then check if the HCIT closes properly.
Is the tray functioning properly?
Go to step 3. Replace the HCIT. Go to
“HCIT and drawer
assembly removal” on
page 413.
