WARNING
Whenaregenerationisinprocess,thetemperatureoftheexhaustwillbeelevated.
DONOTparkthevehiclewiththeexhaustoutletunderlowhangingoverhead
ammableobjectssuchastrees,awnings,etc.,thatcouldbedamagedbyelevated
exhausttemperatures.DONOTattempttoregenerateinsideagarageorenclosed
areaifthetailpipeisattachedtoanexhaustventilationsystemasthehosematerial
maynotberatedforthehightemperature.
2.PressandholdthetoppartoftheDPFSmartswitchmomentarilytoinitiate
theregeneration.
3.Duringregeneration,theiconsontheswitchwillshutoff.TheHESTindicatoron
theinstrumentclusterwilllightuptonotifyofhighexhausttemperatures.
4.ForAftertreatmentDPFltersystems,theenginespeedmayrampashighas
1,100rpm.
5.Parkedregenerationcantakebetween45and90minutestocomplete.
6.Afterregenerationhascompletedandtheexhausttemperaturehasreturnedto
normal,theHESTindicatorwillshutoff.
7.Tostopregeneration,presstheswitchdowntotheinhibitposition(ifequipped).
Whenthebottomoftheswitchisilluminated,regenerationisstopped.Theswitch
willremainlockedinthispositionandthelightwillstayilluminated.Thedriverhas
theoptionofstoppingaregenerationifthevehicleisinanareawhereelevated
exhausttemperatureswillposeahazard(i.e.,tunnel,undertrees,inanareawhere
thereisammablematerial,etc.).
Note:TheHESTlampwillremainOnifitcomesOnduringtheregeneration,andremain
Onuntiltheexhausttemperaturereturnstonormal.
CAUTION
Failuretoperformaregenerationinatimelymannerafternoticationmayresultin
enginederate,acloggedDPF ,damagetotheDPFandengineshutdown.
