Central Control System
Rain Bird LX controllers including the LX-IVM can be optionally
upgraded to communicate with the IQ Central Control System,
providing remote communication capability for programming and
monitoring multiple Rain Bird LX controllers from a computer, tab-
let, or smart phone.
IQ™ Network Communication Cartridge
These instructions guide you through installing an NCC Cartridge
and confi guring it for communication with the IQ Central Control
System.
Three types of Network Communication Cartridges are available:
• IQNCCEN Ethernet Cartridge
• IQ3G-USA Cellular Cartridge
• IQNCCRS RS-232 Cartridge
NCC Cartridge Installation (Optional)
Open the controller outer door and inner front-panel. Locate
the cartridge bay cover on the back of the front-panel and press
down on the top-latch to remove it.
Connect the IQ Port cable or antenna to the cartridge. This cable or
antenna provides communication to the IQ computer.
NOTE: Follow instructions that came with your NCC Cartridge in
order to connect to the IQ Central Control System.
Connect the NCC cartridge ribbon cable to the knife-edge connec-
tor inside the top-left corner of the cartridge bay.
NOTICE
Ensure that the RED edge of the ribbon cable is towards
the LEFT side of the connector.
