This chapter explains how to use this printer with PostScript 3.
Using PostScript 3
The following section explains how to use the PostScript 3 printer driver.
For details about installing the PostScript 3 printer driver, see Driver Installation Guide.
Job Type
Use this to select the type of print job.
• If you are using a Type 2 model with ELP-NX installed, all print jobs for which "Locked Print" is specified
are stored in ELP-NX when user authentication is not set. Also note that any jobs for which "Locked
Print" is not specified will be deleted according to the default setting of ELP-NX.
• For details about how to print using ELP-NX, see the manuals provided with the application.
• For details about the option settings of ELP-NX, consult your administrator.
The following shows the tabs or menus where you can select this function.
[Job Type:] on [Job Log] in the print dialog box.
You can select the following items:
Normal Print
Select this for normal printing. The print job starts immediately after the print command is given.
Sample Print
Use this function to print only one set of a multiple print jobs.
The other sets are saved in the printer. The saved job can be printed from the printer's control panel.
You can also delete the saved job.
• The
user ID can contain up to eight alphanumeric characters (a-z, A-Z, 0-9). The password can
contain 4-8 digits.
• Entering a user ID helps you distinguish your print jobs from others.
Locked Print
Use this function to save documents in the printer memory with a password, and then edit and print
them as you want.
