Making the basic settings for the Safety Extended/Advanced Functions
The "Extended/Advanced Functions" setting is selected in the first drop-down list.

1. In the second drop-down list, select whether a safety-capable encoder is used:
– with encoder
– without encoder
2. Select one of the following settings in the "Control type" drop-down list:
– via PROFIsafe (the "Basic functions via onboard terminals" option is automatically
active)
– without selection (only for SLS and SDI of the extended functions)
3. Activate or deactivate the "Basic functions via onboard terminals" option.
The associated extended Safety Integrated Functions are then active in the lower part of
the screen form and can be parameterized:
– Stop functions
– Braking functions
– Motion monitoring functions
– Position monitoring (= Advanced Functions)
4. Click the button for the required extended Safety Integrated function.
The corresponding screen form is displayed and can be parameterized (see Chapter
"Extended Functions (Page 231)" or "Advanced Functions (Page 269)").
