• Series commissioning:
For series commissioning, save the drive data of a source converter and transfer this data to
one or several target converters. You can 󹪝nd more information in Chapter "Series
commissioning (Page221)".
• Replacing the converter without memory card:
If a converter has to be replaced, restore the drive data of a defective converter via the web
server. You can 󹪝nd more information in Chapter "Replacing the converter (Page484)".
7.4.6.5 Restoring data from an encrypted backup data
Requirement
• You have an encrypted backup 󹪝le of the converter on your operating unit.
• Con󹪝gured drive password:
– You know the originally con󹪝gured drive password with which the drive data in the
backup 󹪝le were encrypted.
– You know the currently con󹪝gured drive password.
This is only applicable if the currently con󹪝gured drive password deviates from the
originally con󹪝gured drive password, with which the drive data in the backup 󹪝le were
encrypted.
• Rights required for active user management (UMAC):
– "Create backup or load drive data to Startdrive"

Lost password
The f
ollowing restrictions apply if the password is lost:
• Drive data encryption cannot be deactivated.
• The drive data cannot be restored from an encrypted backup 󹪝le.
Recommendation:
• Store the password in a secure location, for example, in a password manager. Ensure that you
can access the password if needed.
Procedure
1. Call the "Back
up and restore" menu.
2. Navigate to the "Restore drive data from backup 󹪝le" area.
3. Use the "Click to select 󹪝le, or drag and drop 󹪝le here" button to select the backup 󹪝le.
4. To restore the drive data, proceed as described below depending on the speci󹪝c application.
