THROTTLE CABLE
Adjust the throttle cable play

A as follows:
THROTTLE CABLE ADJUSTMENT
• Loosen the lock-nut


• Turn adjuster

2 so the throttle grip has 2 – 4 mm (0.08 – 0.16
in) play in circumference.
• Tighten the lock-nut


to the specified torque.
# Throttle cable play

A: 2 – 4 mm (0.08 – 0.16 in)
$ Cable adjuster lock-nut: 2.2 N·m (0.22 kgf-m, 1.60 lb-ft)
THROTTLE CABLE LUBRICATION
• Remove the throttle case


• Apply oil to the throttle cable.
• Apply SUZUKI SUPER GREASE to the throttle cable spool.

(or equivalent grease)
% WARNING
Inadequate throttle cable play can cause engine speed
to rise suddenly when you turn the handlebars. This
can lead to loss of rider control.
Adjust the throttle cable play so that engine speed
does not rise due to handlebar movement.
% WARNING
After the adjustment is completed, check that handle-
bars movement does not raise the engine idle speed
and that the throttle grip returns smoothly and auto-
matically.
