DRIVE CHAIN AND SPROCKETS
DRIVE CHAIN SLACK
• Place the motorcycle on a block to lift the rear wheel off the
ground.
• Inspect the drive chain slack at the middle point between the
drive chain buffer and rear sprocket.
# Drive chain slack: 35 – 45 mm (1.4 – 1.8 in)
DRIVE CHAIN ADJUSTMENT
• Loosen the axle nut

• Loosen the lock-nuts
2 and adjust the drive chain slack to the
specification by turning the adjusters
3. Make sure that the
right and left adjuster plates
4 are at the same position on
scales
5.
• With the adjusters
3 held in position, tighten the lock-nuts
2.
• Push the adjuster plates
4 to the adjusters
3 and tighten the
axle nut
1.
$ Axle nut: 90 N·m (9.0 kgf-m, 65.0 lb-ft)
• Tighten the lock-nut

20TH PITCH LENGTH
Pull the drive chain tight and measure the 20th pitch length.
# Drive chain 20th pitch length
Service limit: 323.8 mm (12.75 in)
35 – 45 mm (1.4 – 1.8 in)
