WARNING
Openingthehydraulicsystemwithoutreleasingpressurefromthe
systemwillcausethehydraulicuidtoescape,causingpossible
injury.
Beforeyoudisconnectthehydrauliccomponentsorworkonthe
hydraulicsystem,releasethepressureinthesystem;referto
ReleasingPressurefromtheHydraulicSystem(page5–6).

Hydraulicuidescapingunderpressurecanpenetrateskinand
causeinjury.
•Keepyourbodyandhandsawayfrompin-holeleaksornozzles
thatejecthydraulicuidunderhighpressure.
•Donotuseyourhandstosearchforleaks;useapieceofpaper
orcardboard.
•Hydraulicuidescapingunderpressurecanhavesufcientforce
topenetratetheskinandcauseseriousinjury.
•Ifhydraulicuidisinjectedintoyourskin,theuiddamageto
yourbodymustbesurgicallyremovedwithinafewhoursbya
doctorfamiliarwiththisformofinjuryorgangrenemayresult.
CAUTION
Failingtousegaugeshavingtherecommendedpressure(kPa/psi)
ratingcoulddamagethegaugeandcausepersonalinjuryfrom
contactwithhot,leakinghydraulicuid.
Usegaugeswiththerecommendedpressureratingaslistedinthe
testprocedures.
IMPORTANT
Beforeperformingthehydraulictests,checkallobviousareas,such
asuidsupply,lter,bindinglinkages,loosefasteners,orimproper
adjustmentsbeforeyouassumethatahydrauliccomponentisthe
sourceoftheproblem.
