IMPORTANT
Flushthehydraulicsystemwheneverthereisaseverecomponent
failureorthesystemiscontaminated(forexample,theuidappears
milky,black,orcontainsmetalparticles).
IMPORTANT
Ifacomponentfailureoccursinthetractioncircuit;refertothe
TractionCircuitComponentFailure(page5–7)forinformation
regardingtheimportanceofremovingcontaminationfromthe
tractioncircuit.
1.Ensurethatthehydraulicuidisatnormaloperatingtemperatureby
operatingthemachineforatleast20minutes.
CAUTION
Beforeopeningthehydraulicsystem,operateallthehydraulic
controlstoreleasesystempressureandavoidinjuryfromthe
pressurizedhydraulicuid;refertoReleasingPressurefromthe
HydraulicSystem(page5–6).
2.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingdeck,shutoffthe
engine,settheparkingbrake,andremovethekeyfromthekeyswitch.
Note:Ensurethatyoucleanallthehydraulicconnectionsthatare
disconnectedfordraining.
3.Drainthehydraulicuidfromthehydraulicreservoir(frontaxle);referto
theOperator’sManual.
4.Cleantheareaaroundthemountingareaofthehydraulic-uidlter.Remove
andreplacethehydraulic-uidlter.
5.Drainthecompletehydraulicsystem.Drainallthehoses,tubes,and
componentswhilethesystemiswarm.Flushthehosesandtubestoremove
anycontamination.
6.Ensurethatthemountingsurfaceofthehydraulic-uidlterisclean.Apply
cleanhydraulicuidtothegasketonnewlter.Tightenthelteruntilthe
gasketcontactsthemountingplate,thentightenthelter3quartersofaturn.
IMPORTANT
Usingotherhydraulicuidscoulddamagethehydraulicsystem.
UsethehydraulicuidsthatarespeciedintheOperator’sManual.
7.Fillthehydraulicreservoir(frontaxle)withthecorrectquantityofnew
hydraulicuid;refertotheOperator’sManual.
