ThefuelpumpusedontheGroundsmaster3320(gasolineengine)isattachedto
thesupportbracketinsidetherightsideframenearthefuelîš¿lter(Figure172).
IMPORTANT
Whentestingfuelpump,ensurethatthepumpisnotoperated
withoutfuel.
DANGER
Becausegasolineishighlyammable,usecautionwhenhandling
it.Donotsmokewhiletestingthefuelpump.Donottestfuelpump
whileengineishot.Ensurethatthereisadequateventilationwhen
testing.Alwayswipeupanyspilledfuelbeforestartingtheengine.
TestingtheFuelPumpCapacity
1.Parkmachineonalevelsurface,lowercuttingdeck(orimplement),shutoff
theengine,andengageparkingbrake.
2.Disconnectfuelpumpdischargehosefromthecarburetorinlet(Figure172).
3.Ensurethatthefuelhosesattachedtothefuelpumparefreeofobstructions.
4.Placedisconnectedpumpdischargehoseintoalarge,graduatedcylinder
sufîš¿cientenoughtocollect0.95L(1USqt).
IMPORTANT
Whentestingthefuelpump,DonotturnkeyswitchtoSTART.
5.CollectfuelinthegraduatedcylinderbyturningkeyswitchON.Allowpumpto
runfor30seconds,thenreleasekeyswitchtoOFF.
