DisassemblingtheRearWheelBearings
1.Raisetherearofthemachineuntilthewheelisofftheground.Supportthe
machinewithjackstandsorblockstopreventitfromfalling.
2.Removetherearwheel;refertoWheels(page7–4).
3.Removethedustcapfromthewheelhub.
4.Removethecotterpin,retainer,jamnut,andtabwasher.Slidethewheel
hubfromthespindleshaft.
5.Pullthesealoutofthewheelhub.Discardtheseal.
6.Removethebearingconesfrombothsidesofthewheelhub.Cleanthe
bearingsinsolvent.Ensurethatthebearingsareingoodoperatingcondition.
Cleantheinsideofthewheelhub.Checkthebearingcupsforwear,pitting,
orothernoticeabledamage.Replacethepartsthatarewornordamaged.
AssemblingtheRearWheelBearings
1.Ifbearingcupswereremovedfromthewheelhub,pressthemintothehub
untiltheyseatagainsttheshoulderofthehub.
IMPORTANT
Thesealmustbepressedinsothatitisushwiththeendofthe
wheelhub.Thelipofthesealmustbetowardthebearing.
