Thisisafast,simpletestthathelpstodeterminetheintegrityandoperationof
theGroundsmaster3280-Dglowplugsystem.Performthistestwhenyound
hardstarting(coldengine)onadieselengineequippedwithaglowplugsystem.
Tool(s)required:Digitalmultimeterand/orinductiveAmmeter(AC/DCCurrent
Transducer).
Testinstructions:Properlyconnecttheammetertothedigitalmultimeter(referto
themanufacturer’sinstructions).Setthemultimetertothecorrectscale.With
thekeyswitchintheOFFposition,placetheammeterpickuparoundthemain
glowplugpowersupplywireandreadthemeterpriortoactivatingtheglowplug
system.Adjustthemetertoreadzero(ifapplicable).Activatetheglowplug
systemandrecordthemultimeterresults.
TheglowplugsystemoftheGroundsmaster3280-Dmachineshouldhavea
readingofapproximately21A.
CheckingtheOperationoftheInterlockSwitches
CAUTION
Donotdisconnectthesafetyswitches.Theyarefortheoperator’s
protection.
Checktheoperationoftheinterlockswitchesdailyforproper
operation.
Replaceanymalfunctioningswitchesbeforeoperatingthemachine.
TheGroundsmaster3280-Dand3320machinesisequippedwithaStandard
ControlModule(SCM)whichmonitorstheinterlockswitchoperation.The

TheinterlocksystemusedonyourGroundsmasterincludesthekeyswitch,
PTOswitch,seatswitch,tractionneutralsensor,parkingbrakeswitch,anddeck
liftswitch.
