AligningthePTOPulleytotheElectricClutchPulley
CheckingthePulleyAlignment
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingdeck(orimplement),
shutofftheengine,settheparkingbrake,andremovethekeyfromthe
keyswitch.
Note:BecausetheclutchpulleyandPTOpulleyhavedifferentthicknesses,
checkthepulleyalignmentatthepulleygrooves.
2.Measureatthebottomofthepulleys,checkthattheclutchandPTOpulley
groovesarealignedwithin1.5mm(0.06inch).
3.Ifthepulleygroovesarenotalignedwithin1.5mm(0.06inch),loosenthe
PTObearinglockingcollarsandmovethePTOshafttogetproperpulley
alignment.
AdjustingthePulleyAlignment
1.WiththePTObeltinstalled,adjustthebelttensionboltuntilthecompression
springstartstocompress.
2.Loosenandremovethesetscrewsthatsecurethefrontandrearange
bearinglockingcollarstothePTOshaft.Usetheblindholeineachbearing
collarasastrikingpoint,unlockthecollarsfromthePTOshaftwithapunch
byrotatingthecollarsclockwiseasviewedwhilefacingforward.
3.ShiftthepositionofthePTOshaftandpulleyuntilthePTOpulleygrooveis
alignedwiththeclutchpulleygroove.
4.Usetheblindholeineachbearingcollarasastrikingpoint,lockthecollars
tothePTOshaftwithapunchbyrotatingthecollarscounterclockwiseas
viewedwhilefacingforward.
5.AfteryoutightenthelockingcollarsonthePTOangebearings,checkthe
pulleyalignmentagaintoensurethatthealignmentdidnotchange.
6.ApplyLoctite#242tothelockingcollarsetscrews,installthesetscrewsinto
thecollars,andtorquethesetscrewsto9.6to11.3N∙m(85to100in-lb).
7.AdjustthePTOdrivebelttension;refertotheTractionUnitOperator’s
Manual.
