WARNING
Beforeopeningthehydraulicsystem,operateallthehydraulic
controlstoreleaseallthepressureinthesystemandavoidinjury
frompressurizedhydraulicuid;refertoReleasingPressurefrom
theHydraulicSystem(page5–6).
1.Ensurethattheentireoutersurfaceofthemanifoldblockiscleanbeforeyou
removethecartridgevalve.
2.Ifthesolenoidcartridgevalveisbeingserviced,removethenut(item1in
Figure110)thatsecuresthesolenoidcoiltothecartridgevalve.Carefully
slidethesolenoidcoiloffthevalve.
IMPORTANT
Carefullyhandlethevalvecartridge.Slightbendingordistortionof
thestemtubecancausebindingandmalfunction.Whenremoving
thecartridgevalvefromthecontrolmanifold,ensurethatthedeep
wellsocketfullyengagesthevalvebase.
3.Removethecartridgevalvewithadeepwellsocketwrench.Notethecorrect
locationoftheO-rings,sealingrings,andback-uprings.
4.Removeanddiscardthesealkit.
5.Visuallyexaminetheportinthemanifoldfordamagedsealingsurfaces,
damagedthreads,andcontamination.Also,inspectthecartridgevalvefor
damagedsealingsurfacesandcontamination.
A.Contaminationcancausethevalvestostickorhangup.Contamination
canaccumulateinsmallvalveoricesorsealareasandcause
malfunction.
B.Ifthesealingsurfacesofthevalvearepittedordamaged,thehydraulic
systemcanbetoohotortherecanbewaterinthesystem.
CAUTION
Usetheeyeprotectionsuchasgoggleswhenusingthe
compressedair.
