TestingtheFuelPumpCapacity
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingdeck,settheparking
brake,andshutofftheengine.EnsurethatthekeyswitchisintheOFF
position.
2.Unlatchthehoodandraiseit.
3.Ensurethatthefuelhosesattachedtothefuelpumparefreeofobstructions.
4.Disconnectthefuelpumpdischargehosefromtheinletttingofthe
fuel/waterseparatororlter.
5.Placethedisconnectedendofthepumpdischargehoseintoalarge,
graduatedcylindersufcientenoughtocollect0.9L(32oz).
IMPORTANT
Whentestingthefuelpumpoutput,donotturnthekeyswitchto
theSTARTposition.
6.TurnthekeyswitchtotheONpositionandcollectthefuelinthegraduated
cylinder.Allowthepumptorunfor15secondsandthenturntheswitchto
theOFFposition.
Note:Theamountoffuelpumpedin15secondsmustbeapproximately
475ml(16oz).
7.Replacethefuelpumpifoutputspecicationisnotmet.
IMPORTANT
Ifthefuelpumpisreplaced,ensurethatreplacementpumpisthe
correctpumpforyourGroundsmasterbyusingyourPartsCatalog.
Ifincorrectpumpisused,thefuelsystemdamagecanoccur.
8.Connectthefuelpumpdischargehosetothefuel/waterseparatororlter.
Ensuretosecurethehosewiththehoseclamp.
9.Primethefuelsystem;refertoPrimingtheFuelSystem(page4–16).
