InstallingtheRearFrameandAxleAssembly
1.Carefullypositiontherearframeandaxleassemblytothemachineframe.
Note:Theange-headscrews(item9inFigure180)usedtosecurethe
rearframeandaxleassemblytothemachineframehaveapatchlockto
preventthescrewsfromloosening.Wheninstallingtherearframeandaxle
tomachine,eitherreplacetheange-headscrewsorcleanthescrewthreads
andapplyLoctite#242(orequivalent)tothethreadsofthescrews.
2.Alignmountingholesintherearframeandaxleassembly.Installandtighten
the4ange-headscrews(item9inFigure180)tosecuretherearframeand
axleassembly.Whileyoutightenthescrews,ensurethatthemountingholes
ontherearoftheframealignwiththeaxleframeholes.
3.Securetherearofaxleframetothemachineframewiththefastenersthat
wereremovedpreviously(Figure180).
4.Ifequippedwithrearweight(s),attachtheweight(s)totherearofthemachine.
5.On4-wheeldrivemachines,positionthedriveshafttothebidirectionalclutch.
Securethedriveshafttothebidirectionalclutchwiththe6socket-head
screwsand6lockwashers.
6.Removethecapsorplugsthatwereinstalledtothehydraulichosesand
ttingsduringtheremovalprocess.
7.Usethetagsthatyouattachedduringremovaltocorrectlyconnectthe
hydraulichosestothesteeringcylinder.
8.Lowerthemachinetotheground.
9.Checkthehydraulic-uidlevelinthereservoir(frontaxle)andadjustas
necessary;refertotheTractionUnitOperator’sManual.
10.Starttheengineandcheckforcomponentinterferenceasthesteeringwheel
isturnedfromlocktolock.
11.Checktherearwheeltoe-inandadjustifnecessary;refertotheTraction
UnitOperator’sManual.
