betweentheaxlepivottubeandtherearframetoadjustclearancebetween
theaxlepivottubeandrearframe.Beforeremovingtheaxlepivotpin,note
thelocationofthewashers.
6.Pulltheaxlepivotpinout.Thiswillreleasetherearaxleandwasher(s)from
theframe.Carefullypulltheentireaxleandwheelassemblyoutfromunder
themachine.
7.Locateandretrievethe2thrustwashers(items6and8inFigure181)and
atwasher.
InstallingtheRearAxle
1.Cleantherearaxlepivotpin.Inspectthepinforwearordamageandreplace
ifnecessary.
2.Positiontheaxletotherearframe.Installsmallinnerdiameterthrustwasher
(item8inFigure181)infrontoftheaxletubeandlargeinnerdiameterthrust
washer(item6inFigure181)directlybehindtheaxletube.Placetheat
washer(item5inFigure181)asnecessarybetweenthelargeinnerdiameter
thrustwasherandrearframetoallow0.8to2.3mm(0.030to0.090inch)axle
tubeend-play.Slidethepivotpinthroughtherearframe,washers,andaxle.
3.Securethepivotpintotherearframewiththebolt(item1inFigure181),at
washer,andlocknut.
4.Tightenthelocknut(item9inFigure181)untiltheshoulderofthepivotpin
bottomsagainsttherearframe.Ensurethattheaxlecanstillpivotfreely
afterthelocknutistightened.
5.Removethejackstandsandlowerthemachinetotheground.
6.Removethecapsorplugsthatwereinstalledtothehydraulichosesand
ttingsduringtheremovalprocess.
7.Usethetagsthatyouattachedduringremovaltocorrectlyconnectthe
hydraulichosestothesteeringcylinder.
8.Checkthehydraulic-uidlevelinthehydraulicreservoir(frontaxle);referto
theTractionUnitOperator’sManual.
9.Lubricatetherearaxlepivotbushingsthroughthegreasettingontheaxle
pivottube;refertotheTractionUnitOperator’sManual.
10.Operatethemachineandcheckthesteeringcylinderhydraulicconnections
forleaks.
