Steering orbitrol S1
The pressure relief valve 4 protects the steering orbitrol from excessive
pressure. In combination with the priority valve 5 it limits the maximum
steering pressure P.
The priority valve 5 ensures that steering always has the highest priority.
The load pressure signal is sent from the steering orbitrol to the priority
valve 5. The load-sensing signal controls the oil flow from the priority
valve 5 to the steering orbitrol.
The check valve 6 in connection P of the steering orbitrol protects the
driver against shocks from the steering wheel. It prevents the oil from
flowing back through the steering orbitrol if the pressure on the L or R
cylinder side becomes larger than on the pump side P. The excessive oil
flow flows through connection EF to the control valve V15/V22.
Removing/installing the steering orbitrol
Preparing work
Tools:
• Suitable receptacle for collecting the hydraulic oil
• Plugs (different sizes) for closing the oil lines
Technical data
Use a suitable container to collect the hydraulic oil as it drains off and
dispose of it in an environmentally friendly manner!
Disassemble
1. Release the pressure in the hydraulic system – see “Releasing
residual pressure in the hydraulic system” on page E-32.
2. Remove the cover plate 7.
3. Mark installation positions on all hydraulic hoses.
4. Unscrew the union nuts and remove the hydraulic hoses.
5. Close all openings with suitable plugs.
