1.7 Fuel system
Information on the fuel system
Burn hazard due to deflagrations!
Fuels develop explosive and flammable mixtures with air that can cause
deflagrations.
► Do not smoke, avoid fire and open flames.
► Do not add gasoline to the diesel fuel.
Risk of injury due to hot and moving engine parts!
Hot and moving engine parts can cause injury.
► Do not open the engine cover if the engine is running.
► Let the engine cool down.
► Wear protective equipment.
Damage to machine due to low-grade diesel fuel.
► Perform maintenance on the fuel system in accordance with the
intervals specified in this Operator’s Manual.
► Use only clean, high-quality, low-sulfur diesel fuel (sulfur content below
0.0015% = 15 mg/kg). Do not use heating oil.
► Do not add gasoline.
► After working on the fuel system, clean the engine and the engine
mountings of any adhering fuel.
► Use a fine filter in the fueling line of the diesel fuel.
Risk of damage to the environment!
Avoid environmental damage!
► Collect escaping fuel, or absorb it with a binding agent.
► Dispose of fuel or binding agent in an environmentally friendly manner
and separately from other waste.
