Program: This line shows up on the menu only when a high speed NanoTEM card is
installed, and the NanoTEM program is selected. The two selections are:
ZeroTEM TEM Standard 30.5 µs sample time for 4 through 32 Hz rep rates
NanoTEM NANO 1.2 or 1.6 µs sample time TEM. See Section 12.18.
Sample Rate: This line is displayed in the menu only when the NanoTEM program has
been selected. The operator can choose between 1.2 and 1.6 microsecond sample rate.
Array type: Five types of arrays are selectable with the

keys. (See
Section 12.13, Arrays):
In Loop INL
Fixed Loop FXL
Moving Loop MVL
LOTEM LOT
Coincident Loop COL
Continuous CNT
The three letter designators are the mode labels added to the data storage listings. The
coincident loop, in loop (central loop), moving loop and fixed loop (moving receiver)
systems are configured for a loop transmitter and receiver. The LOTEM type survey is
usually run with a large dipole transmitter and a loop or combined loop and dipole
receiver setup.
In Loop and Coincident Loop arrays are used mainly for vertical sounding applications.
Resistivities are calculated for Hz channels.
Fixed Loop is used for profiling, and Moving Loop is used for both profiling and
vertical sounding. Resistivities are not calculated for these configurations.
LOTEM, or large offset TEM, is a method that uses a grounded current dipole for
the transmitter (rather than a loop) and gathers magnetic field (and occasionally electric field)
data with a large separation between the transmitter and receiver. It is included here mainly
as a label for data acquisition. Resistivities are not calculated.
Continuous mode is an experimental program developed for continuous logging for
surface, downhole, underwater and airborne applications. Once started, the program will
continue to acquire data continuously, in bursts specified by the number of cycles in Menu 4,
until the
Escape
key is pressed.
